Elda Mondor (Piana) of Canton passed away on January 4, 2023.

Born and raised in Canton, she graduated from Canton grammar schools and Girls Latin School, Class of 1950. She attended Fisher Secretary School in Boston. Elda was a homemaker who loved the color blue, opera, crossword puzzles, reading historical novels, Christmas, pizza, jelly beans and gumdrops, truffles, football, cats, lying in bed, and listening to the rain or snow falling. Most of all, she loved God and her family.

Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Mondor. Loving mother of Michelle Mogan and Linda M. Mondor, both of Canton, and Cathy A. Mondor and her husband, Richard Hand, of Brockton. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas Mogan and his wife, Justine, of NJ. Great-grandmother of Jordon and Gianna Mogan. Sister of the late Renzo J. Piana and dear cousin of the late Edward R. Piana. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and family members in Italy along with her puppies Jethro and Jettee.

A funeral Mass was held Monday in St. Oscar Romero Parish. Interment St Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations in memory of Elda can be made to the Canton Food Pantry, 960R Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
