Young, William H.
By Canton CitizenWilliam H. Young, 69, of Canton, passed away suddenly at Milford Hospital December 15.
Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
William was the secretary of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Massachusetts for 22 years. Over the years he served as senior grand deacon for Massachusetts, grand representative to Virginia, secretary of Kilwinning Lodge, proxy of Huelen Lodge, secretary of Thomas Talbot Lodge, worship master of the Blue Hill Lodge, district deputy grand master of the 7th Masonic District, and tyler of the Blue Hill Lodge.
Beloved brother of the late Jean T. Young and Roy L. Young Jr. Uncle of Roy L. Young III of Medway, Wayne D. Young of FL, Scott M. Young of Canton, and Valerie K. Kelly of Taunton. Also survived by nine great-nieces and nephews and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday morning, December 20, in the United Church of Christ in Canton. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Blue Hill Lodge, “Viaduct Masons’ Memorial,” c/o Ralph Staples, 28 Wardwell Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
