Lukaszewicz, Edward N.

Edward N. Lukaszewicz of Canton passed away March 1.

Born and raised in Canton, he was a lifelong citizen of the town. He graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1949, and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Ed was named Citizen of the Year in the state of Massachusetts in 1988 by the House of Representatives and the Massachusetts State Senate. He was a member of the Canton Conservation Commission for over 30 years, serving as chairman for 26 years. He worked for Geiger Brothers Promotional Advertising Co. as a salesman for many years before retiring.

Beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Skindiel). Father of Larry Lukaszewicz and his wife, Lee, of Canton. Brother of the late Helen Shellmer and Marion Nay. Uncle of Donna Stone of MO and seven nephews.

A funeral Mass was held Monday in St. Mary’s Church in Walpole. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
