Canton Library Tours
The Trustees of the Canton Public Library will be offering public tours on select dates in April and May. The tours are intended to inform and showcase the planned repairs and renovations to the interior of the library. Tours will be offered on April 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 14 from 2-4 p.m., April 27 following the Library 5K, and May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No reservations are needed — just stop by on any of these dates and times and a trustee or Friend of the Library will walk you through.
Neponset River Mind-Body-Spirit Center
The Neponset River Mind-Body-Spirit Center, a program of the new Neponset River Unitarian Universalist Community of FPUU-Canton, offers free monthly programming to the public! The first Thursday of the month (next is 4/3) from 1-2 p.m. is a “Get Your Body Groove On!” group, with accompanying videos and engaging fun dance exercises. Participants reflect diversity of age, body type/size, races and ability (including while sitting). The second and fourth Thursdays (4/10 & 4/24) are a Zen Buddhist meditation group from 1-2 p.m. in Thich Nhat Hanh’s style of practice. The third Thursday (4/17) is a nondenominational theme-based “Exploring Your Spirituality” group from 1-2 p.m. that’s grounded in conversation, music and the arts. The theme for April’s session is “Joy.” There is also a Fun Friday Inspirational Film screening scheduled for May 2 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. All groups are free and open to the public, and drop-ins are welcome! DEHS Support Groups
The Canton Department of Elder & Human Services hosts several monthly support groups that are open to all. Join us on the second Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. for our Caregivers Support Group (next is 4/8); the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:45 a.m. for our Low Vision Support Group (next is 4/23); the second and fourth Friday of the month at 10 a.m. for our drop-in Grief Support Group (next is 4/11); and the fourth Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. for our Memory Café (next is 4/24). Friends of the Library Meetings
Current and prospective members of the Friends of the Canton Library are invited to attend one of their upcoming meetings in the Aldrich Room. Community Club of Canton Meetings
The Community Club of Canton meets monthly at the Canton Historical Society from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month (except for June through August). 4th Annual Town-Wide Cleanup
Canton citizens of all ages are invited to participate in the fourth annual town-wide cleanup on Saturday, April 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Sponsored by Canton’s Walk, Bike & Hike Committee, Parks & Recreation, DPW and School Department, the event will bring together residents and businesses to clean up 13 locations around town to help keep Canton beautiful and litter-free. Republican Town Committee Meeting
The Canton Republican Town Committee will hold its next meeting on Saturday, April 5 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Canton Public Library. All Canton residents are welcome to attend.
Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive on Saturday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Canton Senior Center, 500 Pleasant Street. All eligible and new donors are encouraged to give lifesaving blood or platelets as seasonal travel ramps up. All who give blood in April will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $5,000 gift card. Additionally, those who give blood between April 1 and 13 will receive a $15 Amazon gift card by email. FPUU Solidarity Witness
In Boston and around the country is a “Hands Off” rally and march on behalf of challenges to democracy, connected also to a major one in D.C. at the same time. First Parish UU-Canton will host a peaceful solidarity witness on Saturday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the front lawn at 1508 Washington Street for those unable to attend the Boston rally. Bring your own chairs as needed and signs reflecting peaceful witness to the values of democracy and justice. For more info, contact office@fpuucanton.org.

Canton AAUW Meeting
The Canton branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will welcome author Steven Knott as its guest speaker on Thursday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Canton Public Library. Knott will discuss his newest book, Coming to Terms with John F Kennedy. All are welcome to attend.
Canton Democratic Caucus
The Canton Democratic Town Committee is holding its caucus on Thursday, April 10, starting at 7 p.m. in the Aldrich Meeting Room at the Canton Public Library. Canton residents who are registered Democrats are welcome to attend. We will be electing a delegation to represent us at the Democratic State Convention happening September 13 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. The Canton Garden Club will hold its next monthly meeting on Monday, April 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the Canton Senior Center at 500 Pleasant Street. Women Singers of the British Invasion
In this entertaining and educational one-hour program at the Canton Public Library, the Retro Polatin Duo (Jill Goldman and David Polatin) will discuss “The Women Singers of the British Invasion” and sing and play guitar on songs from artists including Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield, LuLu, and many others. The program starts at 6:30 p.m. and is made possible by a grant from the Canton Cultural Council.

CCC Senior Supper
The Congregational Church of Canton, located at 1541 Washington Street, will host its next Senior Supper on Wednesday, May 7 from 4-6 p.m. Open to all adults ages 60 and over, the monthly Senior Supper offers homemade goodness and a friendly atmosphere. This month’s menu includes chicken pot pie with a side salad, chocolate zucchini cake for dessert, and coffee/tea. The church is handicap-accessible and there’s plenty of free parking.
