Millington, Linda E.
By Canton CitizenLinda E. (Mills) Millington, 73, died Sunday, May 14, at the Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree after a long period of declining health.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter to Mary (Martin) and the late John Mills. She was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School. In 1982, she married Richard F. Millington in Wellesley and together they shared over 41 years of marriage and made their home in Canton since 1989.
Linda was a longtime employee of Hallsmith Sysco in Norton and Plympton and retired over 10 years ago. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Canton Garden Club since 2015 and was the corresponding secretary for several years. She also enjoyed golfing at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton.
Linda was the wife of Richard F. Millington of Canton and the sister of Steven Mills of Kingston, Patricia Keenan of ME, Charlie Mills and Joanne Mills, both of Brockton, and the late John Mills, Jr. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte. 27) in Stoughton, on Monday, May 22, at 7 p.m. with visiting hours prior from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379, or The Salvation Army, 25 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
