CABI elects new officers, board members
By Canton CitizenThe Canton Association of Business and Industry recently held a board meeting where the following new officers were selected: Gene Manning, president; Paul Clark, vice president; Eleanor Grant, secretary; Stephen Costello, treasurer; and John Ferrari, past president.
In addition, the following sub-committee chairs were named: Eleanor Grant, Membership; Paul Clark, Donations; Stephen Cesso and Paul Clark, Road Race and Special Events; and Gene Manning, Government Affairs.
Also at the meeting, the following new board members were appointed: Sue Korycansky, vice president, Buffalo Lodging, and Enrique Montemayer, COO, Harbar Corp.
Companies approved for membership included The Shaw Group, Sunrise Erectors, Canton Patch, and It’s 2 Cool.
CABI board members also voted to donate $500 to the Hansen Elementary School to be used to promote a fitness program for the students in order to participate in the annual CABI/Reebok Road Race scheduled for September 15, 2012.
In other business, board members announced a new CABI website domain, www.cantonbusiness.org, and CABI Executive Director Paul Hannigan changed his email address to paul.hannigan@cantonbusiness.org.
The CABI board also unanimously voted to oppose the Community Preservation Act, which would add a 1 percent real estate tax surcharge on businesses and homes.
