By Canton CitizenCharles E. Moore, 78, of Wrentham, formerly of Canton and Walpole, died March 26, 2012, after a long illness.
Charlie grew up in Canton, attended Canton schools, and as a boy enjoyed swimming in Bolivar Pond. Upon graduating high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. It was there where he became the San Diego “Golden Gloves” champion in boxing. He proudly boxed around the world with the Marines and retired as a sergeant. Charlie also proudly sparred with legendary boxer Rocky Marciano.
After his military service he lived in Walpole for over 20 years where he raised his family. He worked for Emerson and Cuming in Canton for over 47 years until retiring in 2006. Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family and his weekly fishing trips with his son.
Loving and devoted husband of Lauren M. Moore (Coletti). Loving father of Diane Pacuk of Plainville, Joanne Tagerman of Plainville, Charles “Chuck” Moore of East Bridgewater, Robert Moore of Norton, Peter Moore of Wrentham, and the late Ryan Moore. Loving brother of Frances Clines of Canton, Roger Moore of Stoughton, Mary Geoghegan of Canton, and the late William Moore. Charlie is also survived by nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours Friday, March 30, from 9-11 a.m., followed by a service in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Norfolk Adult Day Health Center, 595 Pleasant St., Norwood, MA 02062.
