June L. Teague, 82, of Canton, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024. Born on November 28, 1941, in Staten Island, New York, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Muriel O’Brien. June’s life was a testament to her strength and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

June grew up in Staten Island, where she attended high school and laid the foundation for a life of service and commitment. She was the mother of Teresa A. Kincade of Canton, Floyd A. Teague of Canton, Cheryl A. Davey of Plymouth, Donna M. Guertin of Rehoboth, and Matthew A. Teague of Riverside, RI. She was a beloved sister to Robert G. O’Brien of Jacksonville, FL, Evelyn Wheatley of Virginia, and was preceded in death by her sister Ellen Bartley. Her role as a grandmother to 10 grandchildren and great-grandmother to five was filled with the same warmth and affection she bestowed upon all aspects of her life.

Professionally, June was respected and admired as a service dispatch manager at PH Mechanical in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

June’s passion for community service was unparalleled. As a past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, she was instrumental in making poppies for the whole state of Massachusetts for Memorial Day, a tribute to her patriotism and respect for those who served our country. She was an active member of the Community Club of Canton and selflessly devoted her time to the Meals on Wheels program at the Canton Senior Center, ensuring that the elderly in her community were cared for and nourished.

Crafting was another joy in June’s life, and her creative spirit was evident in every piece she made. Whether it was making centerpieces for the veterans’ breakfast and memorial services, putting together raffle baskets for fundraising, or any other form of handiwork, June took great pleasure in the process of creation and the joy it brought her.

June’s legacy is one of love, service, and a commitment to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her spirit will live on through the lives she touched and the memories cherished by her family and friends.

As we say farewell to June L. Teague, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Her journey was one of purpose and impact, leaving an indelible mark on the world that will not soon be forgotten.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service held at Knollwood Memorial Park on Friday, September 27, at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canton Veterans Services Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
