Canton’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (CDEI) hosted its annual celebration of Black History Month last Wednesday evening at Topgolf on Dedham Street. This year’s theme was “African Americans and Labor,” both past and present, and featured a keynote address by Carlene McNair, who is dual licensed as a clinical social worker and a certified perinatal mental health counselor. The event also featured performances by the GMS step ensemble and CHS jazz band. Also in attendance to show their support were Superintendent of Schools Derek Folan, Police Chief Helena Rafferty, and Select Board member John Connolly.
