Stepanishen, Elaine M.

Elaine M. Stepanishen (Turchinetz), 71, of Canton and West Dennis, passed away at home April 30 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Boston, she grew up in West Roxbury and attended Boston schools. She has lived in Canton since 1961 where she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Hellenic Nursing Home. She summered in West Dennis for many years and was a member of the West Dennis Yacht Club.

Beloved wife of the late William. Mother of William of Canton, Steven of Little Rock, AR, and Kristine of Centerville. Daughter of Mary Turchinetz of Plymouth. Sister of George Turchinetz and his wife, MaryAnn, of Plymouth, Claudia Ross and her husband, Thomas, of Foxboro, and Audrey Reardon of Worcester. Grandmother of Lindsey, Tawney, Ryan, Abel, and Valerie Stepanishen.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday, May 4, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the funeral home Saturday morning at 10:30. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Children’s Unit, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
