Thanks for making 11th annual Luce Fun Run a success!

On Sunday, May 6, the Dean S. Luce CAPT held its 11th annual Luce 5K and Children’s Fun Run. There were half-mile and mile races for the children, and every young racer received a medal donated by Tom Murphy of Trophies and Awards. More than 120 runners participated in the 5K, with prizes going to the overall winners as well as the top three finishers in each age group. All runners and their families enjoyed great music, bounce houses, tattoos, face painting and a cookout.
The Fun Run Committee would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the following organizations for their sponsorship: Rodman Ford, Marathon Sports, Brilliance Auto Body, Dirt Dawg Sports, Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, Shelia Donovan Pilates Studio, Evolution Sports Performance, Fuzion Sports Club, Joseph D. Galvin Insurance, Kid Care Dental, Melissa Rose Kradin Foundation, and LPL Financial/Sean Flaherty. Additionally, we would like to thank the Galvin family and the Cabot Trust for their ongoing support.
We would also like to thank the Luce students for their monetary donations toward the creation of many of our wonderful raffle baskets, and to the following businesses and individuals for their raffle donations: Johanna Darling, the Draper family, Kathleen Donovan, Elite Fitness, Evolution Sports Performance, Floral Fantasy, Foley’s Backstreet Grille, GNC at Village Shoppes, Greater Boston Running Co., Kimberly Lee, Florence Lum, Marathon Sports, Amy Minkin, Optique Ltd., Robert’s Jewelers, Savoy Salon & Day Spa, and Sharon Country Day Camp.
The day would not have been the success it was without the support of all of the parents and Luce teachers/staff volunteers — we thank you all for your time and energy! A special thank you to Carol and Larry Hickey for all their hard work on the raffle tables! In addition, we would like to thank Principal Robie Peter, the Canton Citizen, Cable 8, Canton Patch, the Board of Selectmen, Fire Department, Police Department, Al Martinez for providing great music, and Queen Ann’s Catering for a wonderful cookout.
