Thomas, Paul B.
By Canton CitizenPaul B. Thomas, 87, formerly of Canton and Westport, of Walpole, passed away October 19 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.
Born and raised in Clayton, NY, he graduated from Duke University and graduated from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1963, during World War II and the Korean War, and retired as a lieutenant commander. He later worked for Kaye Instruments in Bedford, retiring as a vice president.
Beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Rogers). Father of David Thomas of Canton, Jeanne Thomas of Weymouth, and the late Paul “Bud” Thomas. Father-in-law of Cynthia Thomas of Canton. Grandfather of Michael, Christopher and Katherine Thomas, Holly Johnson, and Heather Souza. Brother of the late Norma Barnes, Russell, James and Theodore Thomas. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Susan Sullivan of Clayton, NY.
A funeral mass was held Tuesday morning, October 23, in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Donations may be made in his memory to the ARC of Massachusetts, 217 South St., Waltham, MA 02453. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
