Vote Yes on Question 4: Do it for the generations

By

Dear Editor:

When 45 years ago we chose to bring up our three children in the charming town of Canton, it was because of the “country like” living with lots of open space. Through the years we have seen many open fields disappear and the trees come down so that by the time my grandson came along, many neighborhood play areas were gone. If we don’t take a stand, Canton will become the towns and cities we left to come to Canton.

Please join me in voting “Yes” on Question 4 to adopt the Community Preservation Act in Canton. It will preserve Canton’s unique history, the neighborhoods that depend on recreational facilities for the kids, as well as the open space for our walkers, bikers, hikers, and yes, even the dogs.

Are you aware that this law exempts seniors who make less than $68,000 a year? Therefore, it allows seniors to vote for the CPA knowing they will help their neighbors’ children and grandchildren to enjoy Canton as we did without facing an undue burden.

Let’s save Canton before everything we have enjoyed is gone.

Sincerely,

June D. Alfano
