Joyce, Dorothy M.
By Canton CitizenDorothy M. Joyce, 91, of Canton, formerly of Quincy and Mattapan, passed away November 28 at the Copley at Stoughton.
Born and raised in Boston, she attended Boston schools. She worked as an administrative clerk for New England Telephone (Verizon) for many years and was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers.
Beloved mother of Martin and his wife, Margaret, of York Harbor, Maine; Michael and his wife, Claire, of Canton; Kathryn Arcese and her husband, Stephen, of Canton; Dorothy Donovan and her husband, James, of Plymouth; Stephen of Lowell; and the late Joseph Joyce. Sister of Robert Lynch of CA, Patrick Lynch of CT, and the late Joseph Lynch, Catherine O’Neill, and Richard Lynch. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Saturday morning, December 1, in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Association of Marian Helpers, Father Joseph MIC, P.O. Box 716, Stockbridge, MA 01262. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Care Center for the outstanding care they provided for Dorothy.
