Cigarette smokers should be more considerate of others

Dear Editor:

Perhaps a cigarette smoker can answer this question for me. Why do cigarette smokers toss their cigarette butts anywhere they feel like it? Are they that selfish and lazy? I guess it has never occurred to them that they risk starting a fire when they do that, especially if they toss the butt into someone’s yard. Wasn’t there a recent article in the Citizen about a fire starting because of a dropped cigarette butt? I live in a house full of non-smokers and yet the front of our driveway is littered with ugly, disgusting cigarette butts. To me, that just tells me cigarette smokers have no consideration for anyone but themselves. Shame on them!
