Pavidis, Joseph P.
By Canton CitizenJoseph P. Pavidis, 90, of Albany, New York, previously of Dorchester and South Boston, passed away at the Teresian House May 1.
Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Memorial High School in Boston and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He previously owned and operated a Sunoco Service Station in Egelston Square and a Citgo Service Station in South Boston before retiring. He was the first president of the Spindles IX Club of Boston. He has lived in Albany for the past five years.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth (LaMachia). Father of Andrea Close and her husband, Paul, of Canton, Nancy Athanassiadis and her husband, Georgios, of Albany, NY, and the late Joseph Pavidis. Father-in-law of Joan Pavidis of Holbrook. Also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday, May 9, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Teresian House, 200 Washington St. Ext., Albany, NY 12203. The Pavidis family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Atria Shaker Assisted Living and the Teresian House for the exceptional care they provided for Joseph.
