Senior grateful to Blue Hills, disappointed with new senior center
By Canton CitizenDear Superintendent James Quaglia:
As a senior citizen residing in Canton, I would like to take this time to thank you personally for your ongoing efforts in allowing seniors to utilize the exercise room and equipment at the Blue Hills Wellness Center. Your extended hospitality, generosity, and thoughtfulness to us local seniors is outstanding.
It is so heartening to find that you are one hero who opened doors and gave seniors a warm reception at the Blue Hills Wellness Center. Your civic-minded outreach is so very noteworthy in view of the fact that it has been a disappointing year for Canton seniors in obtaining a decent exercise facility of their own. Initially it was Canton’s Pleasant Street location (the former Knights of Columbus Hall) that was touted as a definite site for our exercise classes. But after careful measurements were made and a realistic study of the dimensions of actual floor plan space by seniors, it was concluded that Canton’s Pleasant Street location would be wholly inadequate for an exercise group. The announcement of the location’s inadequacy was finally revealed this month.
So, Mr. Quaglia, for all the grateful years past and the many more years ahead at the Blue Hills Wellness Center, we say thank you and a whole-hearted well done!
Sincerely yours,
Mary Ann Kinnealey, Canton resident
