CFD offers free survival kits with home inspection
By Canton CitizenWith a free home inspection by the Canton Fire Department, residents can receive a free survival kit that includes flashlights, a miniature radio, water, and other storm-related supplies. Seventy kits were made available to the town through the Federal Emergency Management Agency; as of Monday, September 30, 60 kits remained. Those interested can make an appointment for a home inspection with Fire Lt. Donald Lester at 781-575-6643, ext. 114. The home inspections provide safety recommendations for homeowners, Lester said.
Alcohol sting nets four suspects
Four individuals will be summoned to court after a government grant enabled police to watch liquor establishments in town for underage liquor purchases last weekend. As a result of an undercover sting at Blue Hill Liquor on Route 138, store clerk Anthony Younes, 21, of Foxboro, faces charges of selling and delivering liquor to people under the age of 21.
John Sage, 19, of Falmouth, Joseph Bianchi, 19, of Orange, Connecticut, and Eric Taylor Teofilo, 19, of Woodbridge, Connecticut, face charges of possessing liquor under the age of 21.
Two hurt in rollover
Two unidentified men were injured in a two-car collision at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, at the intersection of Chapman and Washington streets. Fire Lt. Donald Lester said one of the vehicles landed on its roof, and both men were transported to Norwood Hospital for treatment.
Fire Department Open House October 19
The Canton Fire Department will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, at the CFD’s Revere Street headquarters. Tours of the station, fire prevention education materials, and refreshments will be offered.
