Reen, Mary Ellen
By Canton CitizenMary Ellen Reen, of Canton, formerly of Dorchester, passed away October 21, 2013, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Mary Ellen was a graduate of Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, Class of 1965. She was a retired employee of NStar, formerly Boston Edison, retiring in 2005 after 36 years in the customer contact division.
Mary Ellen was the loving daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary E. (Foley) Reen. Mary Ellen was the cherished sister of Daniel F. (Danny) Reen of Canton and the late John G. (Jack) Reen of Miami and Pocasset. She is also survived by her loving nieces: Kimberley Reen of Pocasset, her niece and goddaughter Jill Compagnone and her husband, David, of Norton, and Amie Moreau and her husband, Thomas, of Bellingham; and her grandnephews David and Jack Compagnone and Rory Moreau.
Visiting hours will be in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Thursday, October 24, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, October 25, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church, 1860 Washington Street in Canton, on Saturday, October 26, at 10 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
