Howard, John D.
By Canton CitizenJohn D. Howard, 67, a resident of Easton for the past 20 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at home. He was the companion of the late Beverly Lane.
Born in Norwood on August 31, 1946, a son of the late John L. and Elizabeth (Tumas) Howard, he was raised in Canton and was a graduate of Canton High School. John attended Boston College and was employed as the former grounds superintendent for Wampatuck Country Club in Canton for 10 years.
He later took a position as a parole officer for Norfolk County, a position he held for 15 years. An active golfer, he was a member of the Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters in West Palm Beach, Florida.
John is survived by three brothers, Glenn Howard and his wife, Elizabeth, of The Woodlands, TX, Scott Howard and his wife, Debby, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Gary Howard and his wife, Sheila, of West Bridgewater; two nephews, Jason and Jesse; a niece, Laura; a great niece, Hannah; and an uncle, Robert Howard and his wife, Maureen, of Cummaquid.
