Carter, Sally S.

Sally S. Carter (Paytonjian), 98, of Canton, passed away January 3 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton.

Born and raised in Boston, Sally attended Boston Public Schools. She lived in Dorchester prior to moving to Canton in 1958. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Community Club of Canton and was a volunteer at Norwood Hospital, the Canton Council on Aging, and the Hellenic Nursing Home.

Beloved wife of the late Eugene G. Carter. Loving mother of Daniel E. and his wife, Ellen, of Canton. Cherished grandmother of Eugene Carter and his wife, Jennifer, of Stoughton, and Richard Carter and his wife, Jill, of Canton. Great-grandmother of Lauren and Allison of Stoughton and Harrison and Thomas of Canton. Sister of the late Harach Paytonjian, Elizabeth Almy and Charlotte Mazmanian. Sister-in-law of George Mazmanian of FL. Also survived by her niece Christine Corff and her husband, George, of Sterling, her nephew Gregory Mazmanian and his wife, Irene, of Westborough, her three grandnephews, one grandniece, and one great-grandniece.

At the request of the family the services will be private. If desired, donations in memory of Sally can be made to the Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
