The Hansen Elementary School’s BOKS morning fitness program (Build Our Kids Success) decided to exercise the soul as well as the heart by experiencing the convoy for “Tyler’s Troops” on Thursday, March 6. That morning, a convoy of over 100 police cruisers and fire trucks traveled from the Ponkapoag Golf Course down Washington Street on their way to deliver birthday wishes to Tyler Seddon, a 7-year-old Rhode Island boy who is battling leukemia. The BOKS crew gathered on Washington Street and exercised to keep warm, and they couldn’t stop waving and cheering for all the police cruisers as they drove by! It was important to the BOKS staff that the students experience this sense of community.
