Hansen Staff vs. Students

The Hansen Elementary School community held a very successful “Staff vs. Students” basketball fundraiser on Friday evening, April 4, in the CHS gymnasium. Organized by the Hansen CAPT, the event attracted more than 600 spectators and raised over $7,500 for Kayley and Patrick Furbush, who lost both of their parents, Kristen and Stephen, within a span of two months earlier this school year.

The evening included games and activities as well as raffles, refreshments, and an entertaining halftime show featuring a performance by the Dance Out dancers and a parent free-throw shooting contest. Jack Hughes and Katy Clark coached the student team while Greg Rosenthal, Ryan O’Hare, and Mary Cawley coached and played for the staff team. The national anthem was performed by Hansen fourth graders Myani Gibson and Amaiya Jones. Photos by Michelle Stark and Moira Sweetland
