Let’s skate again
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
The Canton skating rink has been a tremendous asset for the entire town and surrounding communities. Although our kids do not play hockey, we have benefited through the town’s learn-to-skate program and public skating times. I believe having a rink in Canton adds to the town’s appeal and makes Canton a terrific town our family calls home.
Our youth hockey program — boys and girls — is a source of pride for the entire town, and countless parents and coaches devote their time to making the program top notch. Norwood and Westwood also call the Canton rink home for their hockey programs.
I want the town to come together on plans to build a new ice rink. Given that the rink is owned by the state and operated by Canton, the town has the opportunity to meet with our local and state elected leaders to develop a plan. There are many people, like me, that have used the rink less than others but want to help build a new one.
Let’s work together on plans for a new rink that future generations in Canton can call home!
Sincerely,
Joe Donovan
