Griffin, James T.
By Canton CitizenJames T. Griffin of Canton passed away April 20 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born and raised in Quincy, he graduated from Quincy High School and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was the retired past president and business representative of Local #4 International Union of Operating Engineers, Boston. Jim was a boxer while in the Navy and was an avid boxing fan who enjoyed watching boxing matches on television. He has lived in Canton for the last 30 years and was a member of the Canton Senior Men’s Club.
Beloved husband of Nancy M. (Burke). Father of James Griffin and his wife, Rowena, of Anaheim, CA, Martin Griffin of Venice, CA, and the late Stephen Griffin. Step-father of Peter Melvin of Canton, John Melvin and his wife, Lisa, of Berkley, and Thomas Melvin and his wife, Mary, of Easton. Also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held Wednesday in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
