Houtman, Manuela M.

Born and raised in Portugal where she earned her master’s degree in education, she taught kindergarten and high school in the Portugal public school system before moving to the United States where she taught in the New Bedford school system and the Department of Mental Health. Manuela was a kind and gentle woman who loved nature.
She was the loving mother of Olga A. Amaral and her husband, Jorge, of Portugal and Joana A. Amaral-Cuevas and her husband, Carlos, of Canton and cherished grandmother of Martim, Carter and Alani.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Portugal.
