By Canton CitizenFlorence M. Hand (Dube), 89, of Canton died peacefully Monday, June 11, 2018, after a brief illness.
Flo was a retired seamstress who worked with military uniforms for the U.S. Armed Services. She was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary for many years. Flo worked at age 13 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital (Worcester) then she had to drop out of high school as her dad was ill, and she became the breadwinner. Flo wanted to be a nurse but had to put her family first.
Flo loved all her pets, especially her dogs, and was looking forward to being greeted by all of them and by her family at the rainbow bridge.
She was the devoted wife of the late Richard J. Hand Sr. Loving and proud mother of Richard J. Hand Jr. of Brockton. Loving sister of Irene Stevens of VA, Theresa Beal of Randolph, and the late Rita Newman, Regina Malboeuf, Dorothy Trainor, Doris Briggs, Dolores Lawrence, and William Dube.
