Batchelder, Nelson D.
By Canton CitizenNelson D. “Dave” Batchelder, MD, formerly of Canton and of Janesville, WI, passed away June 12.
Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton and was a lifelong resident of Canton. He graduated from Canton High School, Harvard University, and Tufts Medical School and was an Army veteran of World War II. Dave had a private medical practice in the town of Canton for over 50 years before retiring. He also served as the school doctor for the Canton Public Schools and Blue Hills Regional School for many years. He was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Massachusetts Audubon Society, and Trout Unlimited.
Beloved husband of the late Lois M. (Parker). Father of Nelson D. “David” Batchelder, Jr. and his wife, Erin, of Janesville, WI, Lynn Conley of Durham, NC, and the late Stephen D. Batchelder. Brother of the late Richard Batchelder. Also survived by his eight grandchildren.
His passions included his family, caring for his many patients, and fly fishing the rivers of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.
