News Notes: Home invasion charges, copper thefts
By Mike BergerCanton police formally detailed the multiple charges lodged against three suspects in the armed home invasion on Neponset Street on Monday, October 8. Deputy Police Chief Helena Rafferty said the investigation continues and a motive has not been definitely determined.
The suspects have been identified as Deijon Holmes, 18, Josiah Fleming, 18, and Timothy Fleming, 19, all of Boston. All three suspects were held in custody until a hearing set for October 17. Holmes has been charged with home invasion, possession of a large capacity firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm with a defaced number, armed assault in a dwelling, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, armed and masked robbery with a firearm, conspiracy, possession of a large capacity feeding device firearm, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, wanton destruction of property under $1,200, and resisting arrest. Josiah and Timothy Fleming were each charged with home invasion, armed and masked robbery with a firearm, conspiracy, two counts of malicious destruction of property under $1,200, and resisting arrest.
Detectives probe copper thefts
Canton detectives are seeking to identify the individuals who are suspected of stealing copper on three occasions from a business located on Bailey Street. Suspects were seen fleeing from the site in a Toyota Camry. Anyone with any information regarding the identity of these individuals is asked to contact Canton Police at 781-828-1212 or leave an anonymous tip at cantonpolice.com.
Police stress importance of locking car doors
In response to a rash of recent motor vehicle break-ins, police are once again reminding car owners to keep their vehicles locked at all times. At least four break-ins were reported last week with the most recent one occurring in the Algonquin Road area.
