Maurice E. “Maury/Reese” Ronayne III, 60, a lifelong resident of Canton, passed away April 13. Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton, graduated from Canton High School and UMass-Amherst.

He worked as a corrections officer for the Norfolk County Sherriff’s Department for 13 years and previously had worked as a physical education teacher for the Canton Public Schools. He was a member of the Canton Town Club and a former member of Wampatuck Country Club.

Loving brother of Elizabeth Perrson and her husband, John, of Foxboro; Mark Ronayne and his wife, Gail, of Bridgewater; and Ellen Ronayne of Mansfield. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held Saturday morning, April 16, in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
