Gorny, Florence
By Canton CitizenFlorence Gorny, at the amazing age of 90, passed away peacefully January 24 at her home in Canton surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, she lived in Iselin, NJ, before moving to Canton 16 years ago with Eddie, the love of her life and husband of 65 years. They are both now together again in heaven.
Florence leaves behind her daughter, Teri Weber and her husband, Bob, along with three wonderful grandchildren: Tiffany and her husband, Rob Giglio, Bryan Weber and Scott Weber. She also had six beautiful great-granddaughters: Grace, Faith, and Hope Giglio and Cameron, Cali and Elle Weber.
Florence loved to crochet and probably made over 1,000 afghans in her lifetime. If you were lucky to get an afghan made by Florence, you were lucky enough. She loved life and loved to dance and sing by her player piano. Always giving, Florence was an anatomical gift donor and is now at Harvard Medical School. Her family teased her that maybe she didn’t finish eighth grade, but she was going to go to Harvard.
She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. As Bob’s sister Eileen said, Florie, the Jersey girl, and Great-Nan of six, is most likely dancing the polka through the gates of heaven into the arms of her Salty Sailor, Eddie.
