Hubbard Leonard, Mary E.
By Canton CitizenMary E. (Barrett) Hubbard Leonard, 78, of Canton, passed away May 17 at Brockton Hospital. Born and raised in Chelsea, she graduated from St. Rose School in Chelsea.
Mary was employed as a waitress in various restaurants, including the 400 Club in Easton and the Stoughton Diner until she was disabled 30 years ago. Mary loved to travel and play Bingo at Foxwoods. She was a communicant at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and a member of the Friends of Seniors Group in Stoughton.
Mary will be remembered for her friendly smile and her love to talk. She jokingly told her sons that someone once called her a “motor mouth.” Mary loved her dogs and feeding the birds in her yard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her loving smile.
Beloved wife of the late Edward H. Leonard. Loving mother of Richard J. Hubbard of Brockton, Raymond A. Hubbard of Abington, and Thomas J. Hubbard of Milford. Stepmother of Joseph Leonard of Raynham and Steven Leonard of Stoughton. Sister of Robert Barrett of Pacton, Barbara E. Rawlings of MD, Dorothy Hernandez of FL, and the late William Barrett, Louis Barrett and Florence Mull. Mary is also survived by her seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday, May 20, from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton on Saturday morning, May 21, at 9:30. Interment Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
