Duguay, Rita A.

Rita A. Duguay (Richard), 88, of Canton, passed away November 19 in Florida. Born and raised in Madison, ME, she graduated from Madison High School.

She worked as a cafeteria worker at Canton High School for many years before retiring in 1985. She has lived in Canton since 1945 where she was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Singing Group and the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. Rita enjoyed writing poetry, and her work was published several times in the Canton papers. She also enjoyed spending time at the Canton Senior Center.

Beloved wife of 68 years to Roland L. Mother of Lawrence R. and his wife, Carol, of Foxboro, Robert W. of FL, Ann C. Marcel of Leicester, and Denise A. of Canton. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters.

Friends and relatives invited to attend a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton on Saturday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canton Food Pantry, P.O. Box 202, Canton, MA 02021.
