Homer, Janet C.

Janet C. (Atkins) Homer, 78, of Canton, passed away May 18 at her home in Canton.

Born in Boston, Janet was a lifelong resident of Canton and graduated from Canton High School. She attended Peabody LPN School and went on to earn her registered nursing degree from Massasoit College. She worked as a registered nurse at Norwood Hospital for many years.

Mrs. Homer was the past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a current member of both the Stoughton and Dedham chapters. She was also the past grand officer of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Beloved wife of the late Robert A. Loving mother of Robert W. of Alexandria, NH, William A. of Stoughton, and Barbara J. of Canton. Sister of the late Ruth B. Kimberly. Also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Monday morning, May 23, in Trinity Episcopal Church, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1 Blue Hill River Road, Canton, MA 02021.
