This weekend, the Irish Cultural Centre of New England, located at 200 New Boston Drive in Canton, will play host to the Boston Irish Festival, a three-day event celebrating the culture and heritage of Ireland.

The festival will offer something fun for everyone, including Irish music, Irish step dancing, Irish films, genealogy, Irish art, Gaelic sports, children’s activities, food and refreshments, and a large assortment of vendors for shopping. The Boston Irish Festival is brought to you by Guinness, Burke Distributing Corporation, WROL 950AM, Eastern Bank and Aer Lingus.

The featured artists performing throughout the 2011 Boston Irish Festival include: The Prodigals, McPeake, Makem and Spain Bros, Enter the Haggis, Derek Warfield and the Young Wolf Tones, Joshua Tree, The Screaming Orphans, and many more. Along with the featured artists, this year’s special guest is the Keltic Dreams Irish step dancing team. The Irish dancers are a group of 33 children, ages 7-12, from Public School 59 in the Bronx, New York. Keltic Dreams have performed in countless places in the United States and for Mayor Bloomberg of New York, and took the trip of a lifetime to perform for the president of Ireland, Mary McAleese.

The festival begins tomorrow evening from 6-10 p.m. and continues on Saturday (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 9 p.m.) ICC members current with annual dues are $10 per day and $15 for a weekend pass. General admission is $15 per day and $35 for a weekend pass. On Friday, the Irish Cultural Centre is offering free admission to ICC members with membership card present and all residents of Canton with a valid ID.
