Mugford, Jane C.
By Canton CitizenJane C. Mugford, 88, of Eastham, formerly of Canton, passed away December 28 at the Liberty Commons Skilled Care and Rehabilitation Center in Chatham.
Born in Quincy, she was raised in Duxbury and Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. She and her husband, Richard, were the former owners of Canton Corner Service Station, working side by side for many years before retiring to Eastham on Cape Cod in 1982.
After moving to the Cape, Jane worked at Cape and Island Hearing Center, where she became certified to perform hearing tests and associated services. While she served as the office manager and saw patients in the office, she also loved home visits where she could reach out and visit her patients in their own homes.
In addition to enjoying boating, Jane enjoyed knitting and her true passion — sewing. And nothing pleased her more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Beloved wife for 69 years of the late Richard F. Mugford. Mother of Barbara J. Donahue and her husband, Christopher, of Abington and the late Fred and Alan Mugford. Grandmother of Victoria E., Richard J. and Rebecca L. Donahue, all of Abington.
In lieu of flowers and donations, please help keep Jane’s spirit alive by being kind to one another and pass along a random act of kindness, which is how Jane selflessly lived her life. Funeral service and burial private. To sign guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
