Votruba, Elizabeth M.
By Canton CitizenElizabeth M. Votruba, 67, of Canton, formerly of West Roxbury and Boston’s South End, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2020.
Born in Boston’s South End on August 15, 1952 to Tofe M. and Frances M. (Joseph) Tannas, she was a lifetime parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church of Boston. She proudly served on the Parish Council for 14 years, two of which were as treasurer. Elizabeth was the Sunday School superintendent for 17 years and past chairperson of the regional conference for the Diocese of New England. She was a member of the Ladies Society of St. George and served as their treasurer for two years. Elizabeth was also a lifetime member of the Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch.
Elizabeth was the dear and devoted wife of Frank. Loving mother of Kimberly and her husband, George, and Michael and his wife, Marissa. Cherished grandmother “sittoo” of George F. and Kassiani. Loving sister of Mansour, Theresa and her husband, Paul, and Tommy. Daughter of the late Tofe and Frances (Joseph) and daughter-in-law of Theresa Votruba and the late Walter J. Votruba. Also survived by her loving nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle and many cousins and their families.
Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston. Donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 320164, West Roxbury, MA 02132. Arrangements by Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, West Roxbury.
