Perry, Robert A.
By Canton CitizenA celebration of life has been scheduled on Saturday, August 21, for Robert (Bob) Arthur Perry, of Deerfield, NH, who passed away peacefully on December 19, 2020, due to complications from his valiant battle with lung cancer.
There will be a gathering of family, friends and neighbors to celebrate Bob’s life in the backyard of his and Linda’s home at 14 Range Road, Deerfield, NH. Guests are welcome as early at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, in advance of the service at 4 p.m. The service will be followed by a dinner at 5 p.m. and, if weather permits, more storytelling around the fire pit. All are welcome to visit, to share condolences, and join us for some or all of the day’s planned events — rain or shine they will occur outdoors with plenty of shelter from the sun or the rain provided. Dress comfortably and casually.
Born on December 7, 1955, he was the son of Robert and Shirley (Bohanon) Perry. Bob, his three brothers, friends and neighbors had many unforgettable youthful endeavors growing up in Canton that made (and will continue to make) for great memory-sharing every time family and friends gather. The bonds forged in those early years were cherished to the end.
For Bob and Linda it was love at first sight. Married in 1983, they settled in Deerfield, NH four years later. Bob spent many years working to complete their dream home in the woods and landscaping the property beside Hartford Brook, where they would raise their daughter, Jennifer.
Following a decade of work in a specialty tool and die metal warehouse, Bob furthered his education and began a rewarding career working on computers as a technician and later as a quality/software engineer. Many of his co-workers shared their appreciation of his gentle, caring nature, his unique sense of humor and his friendship. He spent nearly a decade of his early retirement assisting others (no task too big or too small), working part-time at the Inn of Deerfield, camping with his wife and their friends, taking care of the home, and keeping his lawn very green and weed free.
Over the years he enjoyed brewing (and drinking) beer, riding his motorcycles, vacationing with family and friends, hosting neighborhood parties and watching his grass grow. He absolutely loved the Deerfield Fair and sharing his home with those who visited each year for the cherished weekend of food, fireside chats and fun. He was a forever Patriots fan.
He leaves behind his wife, Linda; daughter, Jennifer; son-in-law, Miguel; his siblings Paul, James and Mark along with his wife, Deb; his brother- and sister-in-law Rob and Sandra and their spouses, Becky and Barry; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his very dear friends.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (joeandruzzifoundation.org) in memory of Bob. This foundation assists New England cancer patients and their families with much-needed financial support. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is assisting the family with arrangements.
