Kathleen Theresa Flynn passed away peacefully on October 7, 2021, with her family by her side. Kathleen was born on April 16, 1923, to the late William C. Flynn and Mary A. Flynn and was predeceased by her siblings the late Reverend William Flynn, Mary (Flynn) Mclaughlin, James Flynn, Ann (Flynn) Donnellan, and Peter Flynn. Kathleen is survived by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Flynn, and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Kathleen was a devout Catholic who said the rosary daily. It was a true testament to her faith that she ascended into heaven on the holy day of the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Kathleen lived her faith daily, and was a proud member of St. Gerard Majella in Canton.

Born and raised in Canton, Kathleen was a proud citizen of Canton for her entire life. Initially educated in St. John’s School, Kathleen went on to attain a secretarial degree at Boston Business School. With her education, Kathleen worked as an administrative assistant in various businesses across Massachusetts and eventually became an executive administrative assistant at Raytheon where she worked for many years until her retirement in 1986. Kathleen was an avid traveler and appreciated many trips to countries around the world. Her most notable adventure was to Rome where she met Pope John Paul II. Kathleen’s joy of travel came from her love of learning and appreciation of new cultures.

Kathleen was devoted to her family. She never forgot a birthday and many family members will remember frequent trips to Old Silver Beach in her old black Dodge with a picnic along the side of the highway. Later in life she enjoyed spending winters in Florida with her siblings. In retirement, she enjoyed teaching adult learners to read and also shared her love of reading with children in parish schools. Kathleen was an intelligent, articulate and independent woman who took an active interest in current events right up to the end.

Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, on Friday, October 15, from 6-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday in St. Oscar Romero Church in Canton. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathleen’s name to The Pat Roche Hospice House, c/o NVNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr., Norwell, MA 02061.
