Gary R. Baylor, 58, of Canton, died Sunday, September 18, at Caritas Norwood Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The son of the late Israel and Ann (Adelman) Beggelman, he was born in Boston and spent his early years in the Dorchester section of the city. Raised and educated in Quincy, he had been a longtime Canton resident.

Mr. Baylor received his associate’s degree from Quincy Junior College and later his bachelor’s in accounting and finance from Curry College. He had been employed for the United States Postal Service at the South Boston Postal Annex and later at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Brockton doing computer work.

Mr. Baylor served as a seaman in the Navy and was a member of the D.A.V. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed reading, particularly books on history.

He is survived by his wife of nine years, Nancy J. (Krochmal) Dullea, and his stepdaughter, Natasha Dullea, of Peabody. He is also survived by his many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a committal service with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday, September 22, at 2:15 p.m.
