Bhavnani, Krishin H.

Born in Sind, India in 1930, Krishin Hashmatrai Bhavnani grew up in Bombay until 1949, when he began his higher education in the United States. He spent one year in college in California and then transferred to M.I.T. in Boston, where he received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering, as well as a professional degree in process control while he served as an instructor.
Krishin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda (neé Hemsworth) of Liverpool, England. He is also survived by his daughter Reuki Schutt, son-in-law Roger Schutt, and grandchildren Premela and Christopher Deck, Anjali Schutt (and fiancé Matthew Bayliss) and Sarojini Schutt, all of Canton; daughter Tara Keiter and son-in-law Eric Keiter of Orlando, FL, and grandchildren Jack Keiter and George Keiter; and two great-grandchildren, Gideon and Evander Deck. He is predeceased by his daughter, Robin Bhavnani, who died in 2017.
Krishin Bhavnani’s career coincided with the evolution of mainframe computers during the second half of the 20th century. He began working at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA in 1957 where he focused on their process control applications. He relocated to Massachusetts in 1962 where he focused on systems design and product planning at Honeywell and aerospace research support with Logicon, Inc.
In 1977 he founded Radex, Inc., which became an increasingly significant contributor to software and analytical services for U.S. Air Force Geophysical Research at Hanscom Air Force Base. He retired after selling Radex in 2004.
