Brophy, Sean M.
By Canton CitizenSean M. Brophy, 56, of Wareham, passed away peacefully January 13, 2022, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of Dina Brophy.
He was born in Norwood and lived in Stoughton and Wareham for many years. He graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood.
Mr. Brophy owned and operated Brophy Builders.
Sean is survived by his wife, Dina (Swart) Brophy of Wareham; his parents, retired Stoughton Firefighter William V. and Mary Lou (Minuchi) Brophy of Stoughton; four sons, Alec Brophy of Saugus and Brayden, Brett and Barret Brophy of Wareham; a daughter, Claudia Brophy of Melrose; a brother, Jarrod Brophy of Wareham; and a niece, Seevahn Brophy of South Carolina. He was the father of the late Taylor Rose Brophy.
Sean was a talented athlete and played hockey and baseball. He also boxed and wrestled while in high school. He loved cooking for his friends and family, hanging out at the backyard fireplace with his friends, watching sports, especially the Patriots and Bruins, and enjoyed playing cards at the Fan Club with his many friends and wife Dina.
Sean coached Little League and Babe Ruth for many years, including his son Brayden’s team. He enjoyed watching his sons Barret and Brett play soccer and baseball and spending quality time with Alec and Claudia. Sean was known to be the “life of the party” and always wanted to dance. He was liked by many because of his charismatic and lovable personality.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 21, in St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
