Mackness, Horace D.

By

Horace worked for the First National Bank of Boston starting as a teller and working his way up to branch manager. He retired in 1990 after 34 years of service.

Horace was active in the Salvation Army’s Boston Central Corps as a youth director. He played the alto horn in the band and sang with the Songstress Choir. During the 1970s Horace joined the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton and served as a deacon, youth leader and music director up until 2019.

Horace loved working with the youth and helped friends find their way to the commitment of our Lord. In his younger years, Horace could always be found outside playing any kind of sport with the neighborhood kids or just being there for them in their time of need. He was active in Canton Pop Warner Football and loved the game of golf. Horace was also a lover of music and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family at their home in Maine. He touched many lives in his 88 years and will be sorely missed.
