Gross, Joseph A.

By

Joseph “Jody” Anthony Gross, 67, of Kennebunk, Maine, passed away at home on March 30, 2022.

He was born on June 5, 1954 in Randolph to Anthony and Evelyn (Mazzuchi) Gross.

Jody graduated from high school in Canton and worked in sales throughout his career. He married Janet Teresa Kramer and the couple had 36 wonderful years together.

Jody loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He was friendly, personable, fun loving, and very chatty. He enjoyed storytelling and sharing meals with family and friends. He was a heart transplant recipient of 24 years. He lived his life and was grateful for every day. It is an understatement to say he was an avid New England sports fan. He was active in his community as a volunteer for the Kennebunk Parks and Recreation Department as a coach. Every year he looked forward to his trip to Aruba with Janet.

Jody was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Evelyn Gross; brother, Mark; and sister, Lynne Bernardini. He is survived by his wife, Janet Gross; children, Jason, Jonathan, Nick, and Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Chrissy; and two grandchildren, Gavin and Reagan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jody’s name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. A gathering of family and friends was held on Wednesday, April 6, at Bibber Memorial Chapel in Kennebunk.
