Veterans Golf Tourney returns Aug. 8

In memory of Tony Andreotti and Richie Eckler and their tireless efforts on behalf of local veterans, the annual Canton Veteran Golf Tournament has been renamed in their honor. The event’s new logo will be printed on all golf balls and golf towels at the tournament.

This year’s Tony Andreotti/Richie Eckler Golf Tournament will take place on August 8 at Wampatuck Country Club, 99 Pleasant Garden Road in Canton. The fee is $150 per person/$750 for a team of five and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, and dinner after the tournament. Cash or check is accepted. Checks can be made payable to Town of Canton with “Golf Tournament” listed in the memo line. Please sign up by August 1 as space is limited to 90 players.

Registration will be from 6:30 to 8 a.m. and the tournament gets underway at 8:30. The event will feature a Closest to the Pin contest on the third hole as well as a putting green contest beside the first hole. Proceeds will benefit Canton Veterans Services.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100 each and requests must be received by July 20. Please email golf@town.canton.ma.us with any questions or concerns.
