By Canton CitizenCornelius (Neil) Francis Moriarty IV, 79, of Canton, died peacefully surrounded by his loving children on Monday, October 10, 2022.
Neil was born and raised in Quincy. He was an avid sports fan. You could find him watching his beloved Boston College games on Saturday and pro sports on Sunday. He retired from Polaroid, where he worked for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Laureen (Fitzgerald) Moriarty. He leaves behind his five children, Kimberly Hawkins and her husband, Bill, of Fall River, Connie Moriarty and his wife, Jennifer, of Braintree, Richard Moriarty BPD of Duxbury, Deborah Sanford of Easton, and Michael Moriarty CFD and his wife, Rebecca, of Canton; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Patrick Moriarty and his late wife, Joanne, of Hebron, New Hampshire; sister-in-law Karen Fitzgerald Lapointe and her late husband, Rick, of Braintree; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday in St. Oscar Romero Church in Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
