The top-seeded Canton High School field hockey team defeated No. 6 Cohasset 5-2 on Saturday, November 12, to capture its second straight Division 2 south sectional championship. The undefeated Bulldogs (20-0-1) now move on to the Division 2 state semifinals, where they will take on north champion Watertown (20-0-1) on Tuesday, November 15, at Westwood High School (game time TBA). Last season, the Red Raiders defeated Canton 1-0 in the same round en route to the state title.

The winner of Tuesday’s rematch will advance to the Division 2 state finals, where they will face either Oakmont (central champion) or Frontier (west champion) on Saturday, November 19, at Worcester State University.
